Student Wellness

We are committed to teaching, supporting and nurturing the whole student.  We strive to incorporate wellness into all aspects of of our school through:

  • engaging classrooms
  • qualified and caring staff
  • focus on emotional, social and physical wellness
  • leadership and mentorship programs
  • positive behaviour and character programs
  • the support of Youth Education Workers and Success Coaches.

Classroom Programming

In conjunction with community organizations, our school offers various programs and presentations to support the whole student.  Examples include:

  • Healthy Youth Relationships
  • Bullying Prevention
  • Mental Health Literacy
  • Addictions Prevention
  • Self Care
  • Conflict Resolution and Problem-Solving

Nutrition Programs

Food for Thought Breakfast Program

Food for Thought provides free breakfast to students at all three Manning schools every Tuesday and Thursday morning beginning in October.  Breakfast is also provided every morning at our school during final exams.  

Food for Thought is a community organization that relies on volunteers to deliver the program in each school.  They also rely heavily on donations and community fundraising to keep the program going.  Anyone who would like to help in any way is encouraged to contact our school office.  

Lunch Pantry

Our school keeps a supply of non-perishable lunch supplies on hand for students who a need a lunch.  

Hot Lunch Program

Periodically, free hot lunches will be offered for students.  Students will be notified of these dates in advance. 

Hot Lunch from community restaurants may also be available to purchase throughout the school year.  The frequency these hot lunches will depend on the availability of adult volunteers to pick up and deliver orders to our school.
